MANUEL MOTA & DAVID GRUBBS

Certain encounters are sometimes hard to imagine: bringing together two of the most unique guitar players of the last decades in one venue in Barreiro isn’t something we’ve thought about often. 

Let’s imagine then, more specifically, a meeting between Manuel Mota, one of our biggest sources of inspiration ever since we became interested in alternative ways of playing music, an incredible musician who just so happens to be Portuguese, and Mr. David Grubbs, a man who has changed the way we hear music ever since we first met him through Gastr del Sol, and who has kept releasing records and pieces which sound like nothing else but his own ever since. 

Let’s imagine that Manuel Mota is one of the programmers of the Appleton Garagem Festival (which happens during the second part of July and which we highly recommend) and that David Grubbs is one of the musicians he invited to perform there. 

Imaginemos que isto significa a oportunidade de os juntar num palco para retomarem o maravilhoso diálogo que encetaram em 2018 com o disco 'Lacrau' (sim, existe e saiu nada mais nada menos que pela Drag City).
