A peerless band based in Santiago, Chile, Föllakzoid have been, since 2009, building up a career going on its fourth album, in one of the most beautiful sonic updates of the aesthetics associated with krautrock revivalism and the dreamier side of stoner rock, taking in their ontologies of repetition, minimalism, rhythmic and textural trance to the point where in their latest record, last year’s “I”, we reach the final distillation of the hallmarks of rock (drums and guitars) into a sound close to the more contemplative side of club music. As if a bunch of punk kids had discovered house after years and years of jamming.
