Joana Guerra é cantora e violoncelista e tem delineado um percurso artístico muito interessante entre a improvisação e a composição. Criando loops, Guerra consegue a união iluminada entre a canção e a electro-acústica que estabelece em 'Cavalos Vapor' – segundo disco a solo de 2016 – um tratado de encanto.
Her impressionistic and experimental songs are aligned by the hypnotic sounds of the cello combined with the dream-like call of her voice. In 2018, she released her third solo album, "Osso", with the French label Armures Provisoires.
She is one of the most widely active performers in the Lisbon scene, consistently presenting her work not only solo, but also in theatre (with the Companhia João Garcia Miguel), in dance (Madalena Victorino, Clara Andermatt) or in intense collaboration with some of the most relevant names in the Portuguese free improvisation world.
